Over the past two years, Director Colonel Gytis Kazokas and Deputy Director Colonel Gildas Precheur have operated in close strategic alignment, advancing the NATO ENSEC COE’s mandate with unity of effort, clarity of purpose, and sustained operational momentum. In the contemporary security environment, energy has evolved into a decisive strategic domain – no longer an abstract or conceptual concern, but a critical vector requiring coordinated, actionable measures across the Alliance.

Within NATO ENSEC COE, significant progress has been achieved in elevating energy security to the forefront of strategic discourse and operational planning. Flagship initiatives, including the Energy Dominance Wargame and contributions to the Energy Highlights series, have reinforced civil-military integration and enhanced shared situational awareness. Concurrently, the Centre has advanced targeted projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and operational endurance in deployed environments, while hosting a series of dedicated workshops focused on Ukraine, thereby contributing to resilience and capacity-building in a contested security landscape. Furthermore, substantial efforts have been directed toward strengthening the protection and resilience of critical energy infrastructure through the TTX CORE initiative.

These achievements are not solely the product of leadership, but reflect the professionalism, expertise, and dedication of the entire NATO ENSEC COE team. Your contributions are instrumental to advancing the Alliance’s energy security posture – recognizing that energy security is not a standalone domain, but a foundational element underpinning collective defence, operational effectiveness, and strategic resilience.
