Experts from the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (ENSEC COE) took part in the Operational Level Energy Security Course held on 09-13 March 2026 at the Baltic Defence College in Tartu, Estonia. The course, conducted under the Energy Security discipline in coordination with ENSEC COE, brought together participants from across the Alliance to deepen their understanding of energy security in the operational context.
Throughout the week, ENSEC COE experts delivered a series of lectures on critical topics, including NATO ENSEC COE Introduction and Activities, Energy Management Introduction, Energy Efficiency of Military Forces, and NATO Operational Energy Concept.
The course enhanced participants’ ability to incorporate energy considerations into military planning and operations. It introduced key concepts and analysed evolving energy security dynamics within the current geopolitical environment, emphasising their implications for Alliance security and operational effectiveness. Furthermore, the event provided a valuable platform for professional dialogue between instructors and participants, contributing to the continuous strengthening of NATO’s energy resilience at the operational level.
