On 19-23 of May in Vilnius, Lithuania, NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence, together with US Naval Postgraduate School organized annual Energy Efficiency in Military Operations Course (EEMOC).

This course was aimed to enhance awareness and knowledge on the importance of energy efficiency in military operations in order to apply innovative energy efficiency approaches to improve NATO capabilities at the operational level. During the course, lectures shared knowledge about challenges to NATO’s Energy Security and Energy Efficiency strategy and policy, importance of energy efficiency for military forces, modern energy management technologies, best practices of energy efficiency, energy management planning and other issues.

The course consisted of theoretical lectures and practical sessions in this field. Participants of the course as well had opportunity to visit Pabradė training area and see real energy efficiency solutions in three different military camps.

This year, 40 students – military and civilian specialists from different NATO countries – participated in the course.

“This energetic week at the Energy Efficiency in Military Operations Course brought together military and civilian professionals to explore innovative strategies for enhancing operational effectiveness through efficient and sustainable energy practices. The course not only fostered knowledge-sharing and encouraged practical operational and tactical solutions but also reinforced the vital role of energy efficiency in strengthening mission resilience and supporting NATO’s broader security objectives” – in his final remarks said IC2 (LCL) Gildas Precheur, Deputy Director/Chief of Staff on NATO ENSEC COE.
