On 10 March, Colonel Gytis Kazokas, the Director of the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (ENSEC COE), held a substantive meeting with Rear Admiral Giedrius Premeneckas, Chief of the Defence Staff and Vice Chief of Defence of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The discussions focused on the logistical energy requirements of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and examined how the NATO ENSEC COE can provide tailored expertise and support in this domain.

Both parties exchanged views on strategic frameworks through which the NATO ENSEC COE may directly contribute to addressing current and emerging energy-related challenges affecting force readiness, resilience, and sustainment within the evolving security environment. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to deepening cooperation in operational energy, with the aim of enhancing the Lithuanian Armed Forces’ ability to operate effectively across the full spectrum of missions.
